A fire has closed the A171 on the North York Moors.
The road is shut between the Flask Inn and the junction with the B1416 leading to Ruswarp, due to smoke blowing across the carriageway.
Firefighters were called out at 4.33pm.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Multiple crews responded to a report of a fire to moorland at the side of the road. This incident is ongoing.”
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Motorists are asked to avoid the area and follow diversions at this time.
“Thank you for your patience and understanding.”
This is a separate incident from the fire at nearby Langdale Moor.
