Police investigating the stabbing of a man in York are hunting this man.
He’s 30-year-old Robert Elkes and is wanted on suspicion of a serious assault.
Extensive enquiries have been ongoing to locate Elkes since the attack yesterday lunchtime.
Elkes has links to York, Doncaster and Halifax, but officers believe he’s in the York area.
He is described as
- white man
- about 5ft 10in tall
- of proportionate build
- with short dark hair
- a short dark beard
- and a tattoo of the name ‘Billy’ on his right arm.
Officers sealed off Walmgate after a man suffered a suspected stab wound to his chest.
An ambulance took the victim to hospital after he was given first aid at the scene by local people.
As part of the investigation, armed police went to an address on Trinity Court in the Micklegate area, but no arrest was made.
