** Update: Man stabbed in York – Armed police search for suspect **
Police sealed off a main York road this afternoon (Tuesday).
Walmgate was taped off from Robinson Court, near the entrance to the National Centre For Early Music, to Bowes Morrell House.
A number of police vehicles and an ambulance were at the scene.
Traffic was being diverted away, although pedestrians could still get through.
The road has now reopened.
Residents on the street have told YorkMix that someone has been stabbed, although that is unconfirmed.
One person has been taken to hospital.
