Police investigating a serious incident have taped off a house in York tonight (Saturday).

Neighbours say officers turned up in numbers late this afternoon in Lilbourne Drive, off Water Lane.

A resident who didn’t want to be identified told YorkMix that police knocked on the door at about 4.45pm asking if they could view CCTV footage.

Officers said there had been an incident but did not go into detail.

A number of police vehicles and a crime scene investigation van are parked on the street.

Another resident said there was a disturbance in the street which appeared to involve a group of people.

She said they had been told by police that they are not allowed in the alleyway off the street.

One person had been taken away in an ambulance.
