Emergency services were called to a home in Selby where a woman had been injured when part of their cooker exploded.
Firefighters were called out at 7.03pm last night (Thursday).
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A crew from Selby responded to reports of an induction hob which had exploded.
“The occupier suffered singed hair and glass in their foot.
“Fire service inspected only and the occupant was taken to hospital.”
The injured woman told YorkMix she was still in hospital on Friday morning and added: “Please make sure to tell your listeners to make sure they have a fire blanket in there kitchen as it saved my family and house!”
