Emergency services were at the scene of a serious collision in Selby earlier today (Friday).
Traffic was at standstill on the A19 by Riccall, after reports that a skip lorry and a car had crashed by the York Road junction at around 10:40am.
The road was closed in both directions, and air ambulance, paramedics, firefighters, and police officers were at the scene.

North Yorkshire Police released this statement at the :
“We’re currently dealing with a serious road traffic collision on the A19 at Riccall. The road is currently closed at this location in both directions.
“Motorists who are travelling between York and Selby should find an alternative route.”
