Simply the best! York is named top UK city – in poll of 75K people

The votes are in – all 75K of them – and the outcome is clear: York is the tops.

And this verdict comes from a discerning audience – readers of Luxury Lifestyle Magazine.

Altogether 74,915 people voted in the second annual Luxury Lifestyle Magazine Readers’ Travel Awards. And they backed York as the Best UK City.

Also doing well was The Grand – named as the Best City Hotel in England, and runner up in the UK (behind the Grand Central Hotel in Belfast).

This is just the latest gong to come York’s way. In 2018 it was named the best city to live in by the Sunday Times.

That same year it became the most summer friendly city in Britain.

And this July, it was declared the happiest city in the north.
