A host of companies took part in the team event, which forms parts of the Asda Foundation York 10K.
The average chip time of the first three team members home was used to calculate the winners.
Morrison Utility Services, which also sponsored the challenge, took the trophy with a time of 40:07 – 20 seconds ahead of sports and recreation association Hassra in second place.
Professional Game Match Officials Ltd, a team whose ranks included Premiership football referees Phil Dowd, Mike Jones and Anthony Taylor, finished third in 41:37.
The fastest man in the challenge was Morrison Utility’s Steve Sanders who came home in 38:35, while Hassra’s Janet Hindley was the quickest woman in 41:01.
“Obviously as proud sponsors of the challenge we were delighted to win but everyone who took part deserves congratulations,” said John Edwards, Morrison Utility Services contract director.
“Like us, I’m sure they were delighted to be involved in such a splendid event as the York 10K which raises a great deal of money for many good causes.”
About 6,000 people took part in the York 10K this August, which is organised by Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All.
