Multiple police units responded to a report of a burglary in York during the early hours.
North Yorkshire Police received a 999 call at around 1:30am yesterday (Wednesday) from a member of the public who heard breaking glass in a nearby property on Tuke Avenue.
Officers attended the scene immediately and located two men inside a ground floor flat.
The two men in their 20s were arrested on suspicion of burglary.
A scene guard was put in place to allow a forensic examination of the premises and the investigation is ongoing.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said:
“The member of the public did exactly the right thing by contacting us straight away, ensuring we could take immediate action.”
