Well, there’s good timing.

Just as we ease out of lockdown and are allowed to meet more people outside, the weather smiles on us.

Tomorrow is set to see temperatures reach 20°C in York and North Yorkshire.

Wednesday, like today, should reach 18°C.

It looks cooler for the rest of the week. The forecasts suggests a cool Easter Bank Holiday weekend, with a maximum of 12°C on Saturday, but dry – until Easter Monday, when showers are likely.

Meanwhile, two flood alerts have been issued for the city, for the Upper River Ouse and the tidal River Ouse from Naburn Lock to Selby. In both cases the message is “Flooding is possible – be prepared”.

The river at the Viking Recorder in York city centre is set to peak at 3.26m, which is enough for riverside properties to flood, by 2am tomorrow (Tuesday).
