Thefts from vehicles in Selby – Police ask victims to come forward

There have been a spate of thefts from vehicles in the Selby district and officers are asking “Have you been affected?

One person was arrested as an investigation began into incidents in Selby and Barlby which took place during the early hours of Tuesday 24 August 2021 and the early hours of Wednesday 25 August 2021.

Selby Police say; “We’re working to establish the full circumstances of these incidents so if you have any information which could help the investigation or you’ve been a victim of this type of crime in the last week in the Selby area but haven’t reported it please get in touch by calling 101.

You should use reference number 1221 01 888 39.

They added; “An individual was arrested in connection with these incidents and has been released under investigation.

“Make sure you keep your vehicles locked when unattended, even if it’s just for a few minutes – that can be all the opportunity a thief needs!”
