A Doctor’s surgery in Thirsk says it has been overwhelmed with the demand for care this morning.

Staff members at the Health Centre on Chapel Street have tested positive for covid and the number of cases of the virus has gone up locally they say. All routine appointments are full today and they have put out a message to say they can only accept requests for urgent care.

They added that their phone lines are very busy and asked that people only call in if they have an urgent request for help.

Consider seeking advice from Gov.uk , NHS choices website, 111 or your pharmacist.
