Plans are in to turn a landmark York building into a new homeware store.
YorkMix reported last week that Ousegate House, on Nessgate, will soon become home to Søstrene Grene.
The Danish homewares specialist will take almost 5,000 sq ft of open-plan floor space in the building, rebranded The Coach House by owners the Helmsley Group.
Now an application is in to rebrand the look of the building, formerly home to the Royal Bank of Scotland.
New timber painted signs and a hanging sign are set to be added.
“The proposed signage largely replaces existing/pre-existing signage on the building’s ground floor (formerly two units),” say application documents.
“The future occupier intends to occupy both units and introduce a cohesive signage scheme to this building’s full ground floor façade.
“The proposed signage is understated and will not be externally illuminated.
“Sostrene Grene is a leading Danish and international retailer and lifestyle brand.
“The approval of this application will facilitate the reuse of the vacant ground floor of this building and its occupation by an international brand of high repute.”
