Train services disrupted after three men climb onto the roof at York Station

Train services were suspended at York Station after men climbed onto the roof.

It happened on Saturday night (26 June).

YorkMix has been told that police were called in to deal with the incident around platform 3 and 5. The electric power used by some trains had to be isolated between Skelton Junction and Hambleton Junction.

A British Transport Police spokesperson told YorkMix: “British Transport Police were called to York railway station at 9.47pm on Saturday 26 June following reports of three men on a roof near the station.

“Officers attended and spoke to the men, however no arrests were made.”

A spokesperson for LNER said: “We liaised with BTP and Network Rail when we became aware of reports of men on the roof of the station.

“As a result of the incident there was minor disruption caused.”
