It looks like being a frustrating day for passengers with delays and cancellations on the East Coast Main Line.

Some services through York station have been cancelled and others are badly delayed after a reported derailment at Virgin East Coast’s Edinburgh depot at 6.30am on Tuesday (November 29).

Early trains from Edinburgh into York have seen delays of 45 minutes.

Cancelled trains include the 09:58 going to London Kings Cross, and the 09:32 coming from Edinburgh.

The problems are due to affect services until at least 3pm today, say National Rail.

Full details of the disruption can be found on the travel alerts page of Virgin East Coast, or via National Rail Enquiries.
