Celebrated actor Brian Cox has cancelled his much-anticipated York show.
The man who’s a star on both sides of the Atlantic thanks to his award-winning role as Logan Roy in his drama Succession was due to perform at the York Barbican this autumn.
But those who bought tickets received refunds today, and the show has disappeared from the Barbican website.
Brian Cox – It’s All About Me! was due to play the Barbican on Tuesday 28 October.
It appears that the whole 18-date run has been pulled.
Theatregoers at other venues have reportedly been sent emails saying that the cancellation is “due to unforeseen scheduling issues”.
The official show website says only “Check back for 2026 dates”.
We have asked for more details from the York Barbican and Mr Cox’s representatives, but haven’t heard back yet.
The Scottish star is currently performing in Make It Happen, a play about the financial crash of 2008, at the Edinburgh Festival.
Earlier this summer, he said of the one-man show: “I am looking forward to this tour as it marks something a little different for me – sharing the stage with myself.
“As the title indicates, the show will focus more than ever on my life and career.
“In the second half, the tables are turned and the audience will have the chance to put their questions to me. It should be a lot of fun.”
Over Brian’s 65 years in the acting business, he has also been the recipient of a Primetime Emmy Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and two Olivier Awards.
