There have been two serious crashes in North Yorkshire this afternoon (Sunday).
The first has closed the A61 Ripon road, near South Stainley.
According to the AA, this has caused queueing the A61 both ways from Green Lane to Church Lane.

North Yorkshire Police said at 2.55pm: “The road is expected to remain closed for several hours. Motorists are asked to avoid the area at this time and find an alternative route.”
The second crash is on Reeth Road between Richmond and the Downholme junction.
At 3.10pm, police said it was closed due to a serious collision, adding: “Please avoid the area.”
