Police are investigating after protesters sprayed a £35 million York housing development with red paint this morning (Monday).

The activists, representing an organisation called Palestine Action, used a fire extinguisher to cover the entrance to the Hudson Quarter at Toft Green, with the paint.

They videoed the action themselves – and North Yorkshire Police said their actions were also caught on CCTV at 4.24am.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Police are investigating criminal damage which occurred on a building located at Toft Green in the Hudson Quarter of York.

“The footage shows four men, two dressed in black and two dressed in orange suits, spray paint graffiti on the side of a building.”

Palestine Action says they were targeting one of the groups linked to the Hudson Quarter homes and office development – JLL.
