High winds are forecast for much of England including all of York and North Yorkshire.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning, in force from 8pm on Sunday till 6pm on Monday (15-16 September).

The warning says: “Strong and gusty winds are likely to cause some disruption to travel and interruptions to power.”

Forecasters say the weather could lead to delays on the road and railways.

It could also lead to power cuts.

The warning adds: “It’s likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray and/or large waves.”
