Police are appealing for witnesses to an altercation which took place near a York church.
It happened at about 2pm on Friday 26 July on Pavement close to the junction with Whip Ma Whop Ma Gate.
An altercation took place between a man and a woman in their 20s.
The woman was sitting on the wall of St Crux Church “when she was approached by a man who acted aggressively towards her,” a North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said.
“We are appealing for any information from members of the public who may have witnessed this incident.
“In particular, we are keen to speak with the woman who approached the victim and offered assistance. Your help could be crucial in our investigation.”
