Woman left ‘extremely upset’ after being spat at by boy on York road

Police are hunting for a boy who spat at a woman in York leaving her upset and distressed.

It happened at about 7.15pm on Saturday (19 July) on Lawrence Street.

The boy spat at the woman then rode off with two other boys on their bikes. They’re believed to be between eight and 12 years old.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “This incident has left the woman shocked and extremely upset.

We’re particularly appealing for information to identify three boys who were riding along Lawrence Street near to the area between numbers 99 and 103 Lawrence Street.

“All three were believed to wearing some form of uniform possibly a school uniform, they were all wearing blue / green ties. They cycled off in the direction of Walmgate bar.”
