A woman who thought she was getting into a taxi was sexually assaulted by the car driver.
At around midnight on Saturday October 13 the woman was in York city when she hailed what she believed to be a taxi near Pavement.
A silver coloured car stopped for her. The male driver asked her to sit in the front of the car.
On arrival at her destination the driver leaned over to the woman and touched her inappropriately.
He is described as Arabic in appearance and has dark hair and a well-trimmed dark beard.
He had thick eyebrows and a distinctive nose. He is believed to be approximately 6ft tall and of a slender build, and he is a smoker.
