A woman suffered minor injuries and a car was destroyed by fire following a two-vehicle collision in York.

The crash took place on the A1237 in Huntington at approximately 6:19pm yesterday evening (Tuesday). Fire crews from Acomb and Selby were called to the scene.

By the time firefighters had arrived, all occupants were out of the vehicles and the woman was receiving treatment from paramedics for minor injuries.

Fire crews extinguished the car fire using two hose reel jets, with support from one breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera.

The fire caused 100% fire damage to the vehicle.
