Beningbrough is set to celebrate the bounty of autumn with a host of seasonal activities.

The National Trust attraction in York is inviting visitors to take part in a range of tastings, talks, and hands-on experiences showcasing the rich harvest from the garden.

The special harvest event will take place across three weeks from Wednesday 16 October to Sunday 3 November.

There will be different seasonal activities taking place on certain days of the week.

On Fridays, head to the walled garden for harvest talks from National Trust gardeners about the gardens and fruits of the new season.

There will be delicious tasting experiences on Wednesdays, where visitors can sample freshly harvested fruits and vegetables straight from the garden.

There’ll also be more tastings inside the shop and restaurant – sample jams, curds and chutneys on Thursdays in the stables shop or try freshly-baked seasonal treats from the carriageway on Fridays.

Meet the Maker events will take place on Sundays – with local producers including Sing Gin, Spirit of Yorkshire and Ellers Farm Distillery. You will discover the craftsmanship behind their spirits and get a taste of locally distilled gin and whisky.

Visitors to Beningbrough can also enjoy an autumn walk through the gardens as they transition into the new season – with the trees glowing in golden hues, and rows of colourful chard, beets, leeks, and pumpkins in every shape and size.

The hall and art galleries are also open with the exhibition The Botanical World of Mary Delany.

To find out more and to plan your visit to Beningbrough, visit the National Trust website. It is free entry for National Trust members, RHS members and under-fives.
