Sarah Thomas, founder of ClockFace Beauty, is a mother to two young boys, Alfie, five, and three-year-old Henry. Running the business as c0-founder with her own mum, Karen Horsely, Clockface Beauty is a business empowered by family connection and championed by female empowerment.

Introducing Alex Hall, owner of The Little Yorkshire Candle Company, and mother to two teenage sons. Since starting up her business after struggling to find a candle brand to help her son’s asthma, she has opened up her own store on Goodramgate in York, teaches various candle making classes and releases her own subscription boxes.
“Making candles began in earnest for me with motherhood,” Alex said.
“I’d always been crafty but I started to pour my own candles after struggling to find a brand that wasn’t heavily scented with the synthetic fragrances which irritated my son’s asthma.
