Police have arrested a York man as part of an investigation into alleged grooming.
The man was detained on suspicion of trying to meet up with a girl under 16.
The 28 year old is suspected of
- attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child
- attempting to cause a child aged 13 to 15 to watch / look at an image of sexual activity
- and possessing cannabis.
A spokeswoman for North Yorkshire Police said he is also suspected of possessing a weapon for the discharge of a noxious liquid / gas / electrical incapacitation device.
He has been released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.
