York Outer MP Luke Charters has welcomed a brand new constituent – baby Louis!
And the even better news is Louis and mum Beth are doing well.
This summer Mr Charters became the first male MP to take extended parental leave, saying “I’ve got to be a dad first and an MP second.”
Today, the Labour member said: “I’m delighted to share that Baby Louis arrived last week, weighing 9lb 3oz at York Hospital.
“Both he and my wife Beth are doing well, and I’m very proud that Robin is already being a brilliant big brother.
“A huge thank you to the outstanding team at York Hospital’s Maternity Ward for their incredible care and support. A powerful reminder of just how much we all depend on our NHS.
“As my paternity leave continues, I’m more committed than ever to continue fighting for better parental leave for all families.”
