It was an amazing night with some incredible people. And it was an awful lot of fun too.
The YorkMix Choice Awards 2024 showcased some of the best, brightest, most creative and generous people in York and North Yorkshire.
The ceremony took place at The Milner York Hotel, one of the first major events since its makeover and rebrand – and it was a wonderful backdrop.
Sponsored by Yorkshire Profiles, the YorkMix Choice Awards saw awards given to winners in 18 categories – including Best Takeaway, Best Pub, Best Gym and Best Place to Stay.
Before a single award was handed over, Robbie Williams tribute Tony As Robbie got everyone moving – including the Sheriff of York Fiona Fitzpatrick!
Then YorkMix managing director David Green welcomed everyone. He said tens of thousands of votes had been cast in our unique awards.
“These awards have been voted for by the public, so if you win one tonight, it actually means something,” David said.
“It isn’t just a box-ticking exercise from a load of people who you don’t know. These are the people who engage with your business, who have chosen to vote for you.
“And I can tell you that it is the businesses who are really engaged with their customers who have come out on top this evening. So to be here this evening is an accolade in itself.”
The awards ceremony was hosted by YorkMix Radio Breakfast presenters – Laura Castle and Leigh Nicholson. And the charity partner was the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
