A new take on afternoon tea

Like the gins featured in August, afternoon tea is enjoying somewhat of a revival too.

And keen to make a mark for ‘God’s own county’, DoubleTree Hilton York have created the Yorkshire Picnic.

Perfect for sharing, alongside a couple of glasses of Prosecco, it combines many local ingredients to create a different take on the traditional afternoon tea.

Brioche buns are served with fillings including cream cheese and cucumber as well as Yorkshire ham and pickle.

Sausage and red onion rolls complete the savoury selection.

Classic fresh scones with jam and cream sit alongside brownies, carrot cake and Eton Mess for a mouth watering sweet finale.
