Yorkshire Water called in to deal with frozen sewage in gardens in Norton

Following the battle to save properties from the flood waters of the Derwent over the weekend, there is now a new issue affecting some residents in Norton.

Raw sewage has flooded some gardens and then frozen solid.

The foul smelling waste was highlighted by Councillors Steve Mason and Diana Keele who called for immediate action.

Ryedale Council Leader. Keane Duncan. said it was an appalling situation and that Yorkshire Water would arrive at St Nicholas Street this afternoon to deal with it.
