A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We were called to a report yesterday that a young child had suffered injuries in a fall, at an address in Tockwith.

“The child was taken to hospital. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

“A man and a woman, both in their 20s, were arrested in connection with the incident, and later released on bail.

“We understand this is a very concerning incident. Officers will be in the area to provide reassurance to the community.

“We urge people not to speculate on social media while our enquiries are ongoing.”
